Bring Your Own :

You may bring your own fly, spinning, casting or trolling outfits. I recommend different outfits of different size & weights dependent upon the time of year and the species we'll be stalking. Just talk with me (via phone or e-mail) prior to the trip and I'll be happy to make recommendations.

Use My Tackle :

The name of my charter business summarizes what kind of tackle you'd expect to find aboard any of the vessels in my fleet. Light, Light, Light.
I have always prefered to catch fish with light tackle finding the experience much more satisfying and rewarding. Dependent upon the time of year and what species we'll be stalking, you may find any of the following :

Fly - Anywhere from 4 weight to 9 weight rod & reel combinations. I like Penn fly rods & reels because of the quality and the salt water durability.

Spinning - Most, if not all, of the spin fishing you'll do can be handled very well with a 15 pound test rod & reel combination. I've had no problem landing 50 pound fish using this sized rig. I like Penn SS skirted spool spinning reels and provide the #450-SS with a matched Shakespeare Ugly Stick rod. I prefer the Penn reel and Shakespeare rod because of the quality and salt water durability. You may also find Okuma Epixor #EB30 spinning reels matched with Crowder Rods when you come aboard. These outfits have held up very well under some pretty harsh saltwater conditions and I plan to continue to employ them.

#450-SS
#EB30

Sometimes (rarely) we'll use a 20 or 25 pound test rod and reel combination. Once again I provide a Penn SS skirted spool spinning reel model #750-SS with a matched Penn Power Stick rod. I choose these again because of quality and salt water durability.

#750-SS

Trolling - Even when trolling I prefer comparatively light tackle. You'll find either Penn #320-GTI matched with Penn Power Stick Rods, Calcutta #401-TE matched with Calcutta Rods or Penn #750-SS matched with Penn Power Stick Rods.

#320-GTI
#401-TE
